2026 World Cup FAQ

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be hosted across three countries (the United States, Canada, and Mexico). This marks the first time the tournament will jointly be hosted by three nations.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup kicks off on June 11, 2026, with the opening match set to take place in Mexico City at Banorte Stadium. The tournament will run until July 19, 2026 culminating in the final at MetLife Stadium in New York/ New Jersey.

The 2026 World Cup Final will take place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New York/ New Jersey. This iconic venue will host the biggest match of the tournament.

As co-hosts, Canada, Mexico, and the United States have automatically qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The remaining 45 spots will be determined through qualification tournaments across six continental confederations. The tournament will feature 48 teams, making it the biggest World Cup in history. We will update this section as more teams qualify.

Tickets for the 2026 FIFA World Cup will be available through FIFA’s official website. FIFA is expected to release ticketing details later in 2025, with different phases for individual match tickets, team-specific packages, and hospitality options. In the past World Cup ticket prices have ranged from $100-$1100 USD, depending on the match stage and seating category. We will update this page as more information becomes available.

The 2026 World Cup matches will be played across 16 cities in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Host cities include:

USA: Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, New York/ New Jersey, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Seattle

Canada: Toronto and Vancoucer

Mexico: Guadalajara, Mexico City, and Monterrey

Teams will qualify through regional competitions held by FIFA’s six continental confederations:

  • AFC (Asia) – 8 spots
  • CAF (Africa) – 9 spots
  • Concacaf (North & Central America) – 6 spots (incl. hosts)
  • CONMEBOL (South America) – 6 spots
  • OFC (Oceania) – 1 spot
