History Of The Kaseya Center

Kaseya Center is a multi-purpose indoor arena in downtown Miami, Florida. It’s home to the Miami Heat of the NBA (National Basketball Association), who previously played at the Miami Arena between 1988 and 1999.

Other major sports venues in Miami include Hard Rock Stadium, the home of the NFL’s Miami Dolphins and the Miami Open tennis tournament, and LoanDepot Park, home of the MLB’s Miami Marlins. Inter Miami CF of the MLS play at DRV PNK Stadium, about 35 miles away in Fort Lauderdale.

Work started on the arena in February 1998, and it opened as the American Airlines Arena on December 31, 1999, with a concert by Gloria Estefan. The Miami Heat played for the first time in their new home on January 2, 2000, winning 111–103 against the Orlando Magic.

The Kaseya Center was also known as FTX Arena between 2021 and 2023. It was then called the Miami-Dade Arena for a short period before Miami-based software company Kaseya signed a 17-year naming rights agreement in April 2023. 

In October 2024, the basketball court at Kaseya Center was dedicated to the Heat’s longtime coach Pat Riley, who led them to three NBA championships in 2006, 2012, and 2013.

As well as basketball, Kaseya Center hosts WWE professional wrestling, UFC mixed martial arts events, and other special events such as Disney on Ice. It’s a popular live music concert venue, and major artists who have performed at Kaseya Center include Elton John, Celine Dion, Carrie Underwood, and Dua Lipa. The arena has also hosted the Latin Grammy Awards and the MTV Video Music Awards.

The maximum seating capacity for basketball games at Kaseya Center is 19,600. The arena can host 12,000-18,000 spectators for concerts, depending on the stage set-up.

Standard Seating at The Kaseya Center

The Kaseya Center interactive seating chart shows standard seating on the 100, 300, and 400 Levels. However, the 400 Level only has seating at the corners and ends.

The prices shown below are indicative ticket prices from Ticketmaster. Miami Heat tickets are also available on secondary market websites such as StubHub.

100 Level Side 

Side sections on the 100 Level offer the best standard seats for a Miami Heat game.

Seats near the front of the section will be close enough to hear the players chatting, but choosing rows further back will give you a better overall view. 

Seats in sections 106-107 and 118-119 have excellent views from between the free throw lines, although the front 10 rows are Premium Lounge seats.

Heat fans will love seats in sections 107-108 behind the home team bench. Visiting fans can sit behind their team’s bench in sections 105-106.

Expect to pay prices starting around $240-$350 for standard seats along the 100 Level sideline.

100 Level Corner 

100 Level Corner sections can offer good views, but choosing your seat location carefully is essential. 

Sections angled down the court will have better views than those facing across the court. The first 10 rows of sections 104, 109, 116, and 121 have particularly uncomfortable viewing angles.

Choosing seats higher up or in sections 102, 111, 114, or 123 will give more comfortable sightlines. 

Ticket prices in 100 Level Corner sections start at around $130-$175, depending on location.

100 Level End

There are advantages and disadvantages to sitting at the end of the lower deck at Kaseya Center.

Premium Lounge seating takes up the first 6 rows in these sections, but the first row of standard seating is still close to the action when the ball comes to your end of the court. 

However, your view will be partly blocked by the basket. You can minimize the obstruction by sitting in rows further back in the section, and choosing seats away from the center of the baseline. 

Seat prices in this location start at $220 for rows just behind the premium seats and $175 further back in the section.

300 Level Side

The 300 Level at Kasaya Center offers some of the most affordable Miami Heat seats, and 300 Level Side sections are a good alternative to more expensive lower deck tickets. 

The 300 Level slopes pretty steeply, so choose seats around the entrance tunnel at row 4 if you want to avoid a long walk up and down steps. 

Seats in sections 308-309 and 324-325 give a great view from center court, and sections 323-326 are directly opposite the player benches.

Ticket prices start at around $150-$175 for front-row seats at center court. Seats further back or along the sideline could cost around $75-$100.

300 Level Corner 

Corners on the 300 Level include some of the smallest sections at Kaseya Center, with just 2 rows of standard seating and one wheelchair-accessible row. This is ideal if you want seats without rows of spectators in front of you. 

However, other 300 Level Corner sections are much larger, with up to 18 rows of seats. Avoid sitting in the rear half of sections 305, 312, 321, and 328, as these are some of the farthest seats from the court, and the view won’t be too good. 

Seat prices in these areas start at around $75-100. 

300 Level End

End sections on the 300 Level are pretty small, with just 6 rows of seats. This makes getting to and from your seat easy, and you shouldn’t have too many problems with other spectators blocking your view.

However, the view from here isn’t the greatest, and there aren’t many amenities nearby.

With seat prices starting at $100, you’d get a better overall experience for the same price along the 300 Level sideline.

400 Level Corner 

400 Level Corner sections have fewer rows of seats than the End sections, and the tunnel is in the middle of the section. This makes reaching your seat easy, no matter which row you choose.

These sections have restrooms nearby, but if being close to the concessions is a priority, opt for End section seats instead.

400 Level Corner seats start at around $62.

400 Level End

Along with the 400 Level Corner sections, 400 Level End sections are the highest seats in the arena. You’ll be a long way from the court, and there are more rows in End sections than Corner sections at this level. 

You’ll notice a big difference between the view from front row seats and rows near the back of the section. Choose seats in the first three rows if possible, as these have a better view and are close to the entrance tunnel at row 4.

These sections are close to concessions and bars, but you’ll have a longer walk to the nearest restrooms. 

Seats in 400 Level End sections start at around $62.

Standing Room Only 

Standing Room Only (SRO) areas are located in all four corners of the 400 Level, behind the following upper deck sections:

• 401-404
• 407-410
• 411-414
• 417-420

SRO tickets offer unreserved general admission to one of these areas. These are the cheapest Miami Heat tickets, but standing places are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. You may lose your spot if you leave to visit the restroom or concessions. 

Tickets for Standing Room Only at Kaseya Center start at $30. 

Accessible Seating

ADA-accessible seats and companion seats are available throughout the Kaseya Center, subject to availability. All Kaseya Center suites and all public restrooms are also accessible.

Elevators prioritized for disabled visitors and premium ticket holders are in the following locations: 

• Red: sections 104, 201, and 306
• Yellow: sections 121, 279, and 327
• Orange: sections 109, 227, and 311
• 400 corridors near sections 401 and 411

Escalators are also available in sections 101, 113, 240, 301, and 316.

Limited View Seating

Seats in End sections on every level may have views partly blocked by the basket. The degree of obstruction will vary depending on your seat location, but you can minimize this problem by sitting in rows further back and away from the center of the baseline.

The cheapest seats at Kaseya Center are in 400 Level Corner and End sections, which start at around $62. These are also the furthest seats from the court, so you might prefer to spend the extra $10 to sit on the 300 Level instead.

Best Value to Get Close to the Action

Seats on the 100 Level are the closest to the court. Although Corner section seats are cheaper than End sections, the viewing angles can be uncomfortable unless you sit in the back half of the section. 

Seats in the 100 Level End sections are behind 7 rows of premium seats. That’s still fairly close to the action, and your seats could cost around $220. Choose seats towards the edges of the baseline to minimize obstruction from the basket.

Best Value for a Great View

Side sections on the 300 Level at Kaseya Center offer a good compromise between value and view. If you can find seats near the center line, you’ll have a good unobstructed view across the entire court. Tickets here could cost as little as $150-$175 for front-row seats or $75-$100 further back.

Best Value for Visiting Fans

The visiting team bench is in front of sections 105-106, so sections 323-326 are a good choice if you want a view of player benches without paying 100 Level ticket prices. Seats in this location could cost as little as $75 if you avoid the center court sections.

Best Premium And VIP Seats For A Miami Heat Game

There is a single row of courtside seats around three sides of the court, with two rows of floor seats between the team benches.

Luxury Suites

Children under 2 don’t require tickets for most Kaseya Center events, including Miami Heat home games. They won’t have an assigned seat and must sit on a ticket holder’s lap. 

Children aged 2 and over must have their own ticketed seat. This policy may vary for some special events at Kaseya Center, so check before purchasing tickets. 

Kaseya Center recommends bringing proof of age for children aged under 2, which can be a government-issued birth certificate or passport. 

The 300 Level is ideal for a family visit to Kaseya Center. Sections 303-304, 313-314, 319-320, and 329-330 are small sections with only 2 rows of standard seats and a wheelchair-accessible row. This means your kids are less likely to have someone tall blocking their view.

Transportation And Parking At A Miami Heat Home Game

Kaseya Center is located at 601 Biscayne Blvd, Miami, FL 33132. 

You can reach the Center on I-95 from the north (exit 2D) or south (Exit 2C) and on the Dolphin Expressway and I-395 from the west and Miami International Airport.

Follow signs for Downtown Miami or Kaseya Center.

Parking at Kaseya Center

There isn’t much parking available at Kaseya Center, and the spaces are generally reserved for premium ticket holders. Other parking lots are located in the area around the arena, and pre-booking your parking is recommended. 

Parking passes for Bayside Marketplace, P2 Parking Garage, and the World Center garage are delivered digitally via the Miami Heat mobile app. 

A limited number of single-game parking passes for the P2 Garage are sold online on a first-come-first-served basis. This includes accessible parking spaces for visitors with disabled parking permits. 

Arriving by Public Transportation

Traveling by public transportation to the Kaseya Center is easy, with MetroRail, MetroMover, and MetroBus stops just a short walk from the arena.

The nearest MetroRail station is Park West Station. Trains run regularly until midnight, 7 days a week, and may run until 1am after special Kaseya Center events. Visit the MetroRail website for more information and schedules.

Drop-Off arrangements

The drop-off location for buses, taxis, and limos is at Gate 3 on NE 8th Street, next to the box office.

If you are traveling to Kaseya Center by rideshare, the Uber/Rideshare drop-off location is near Gate 6 at the corner of Bayshore Drive and Heat Blvd. 

Drop-off points for disabled visitors are in the following locations:

• Gate 3 on NE 8th Street, next to the box office. Elevators 1 and 2 connect to all seating levels. 
• Gate 4 on NE 8th Street, next to the valet parking services. Elevators 3 and 4 connect to all seating levels. 

When To Arrive For A Miami Heat Game

The doors at Kaseya Center generally open one hour before the start time of most events. Premium ticket holders can enter the Center 90 minutes before tipoff for most Miami Heat games.

Kaseya Center has 6 gates:

• Gate 1: on the west side, toward the south end. Closest to seating sections 119-124.
• Gate 2: on the west side, toward the north end. Closest to seating sections 101-106.
• Gate 3: on the north side, toward the west end. This ground-level gate is for premium ticket holders and disabled visitors only.
• Gate 4: on the north side, near the center of the building. This gate is on the ground level and is for VIP and disabled visitors only.
• Gate 5: on the north side, above Gate 4. Closest to seating sections 107-112.
• Gate 6: on the south side, toward the east end. This gate is on the 100 Level and can be accessed by a set of stairs. 

Logistics at Kaseya Center

Contactless Entry

Tickets for all Kaseya Center events and parking passes are now delivered digitally using the official Miami Heat App. For a smooth entry, you’re advised to transfer mobile tickets to each member of your group before traveling to the arena.

Screenshots and printed copies of your tickets can’t be used for entry to the arena.

Reverse ATMs

Kaseya Center is now completely cashless for purchases throughout the arena, including all concession stands, bars, and merchandise stations. Payment can be made via debit/credit cards, contactless cards, and mobile apps such as Apple Pay and Google Wallet. 

If you want to convert cash into a prepaid debit card, you can do this with no transaction fees at one of the cash-to-card kiosks in the following locations:

• Sections 109, 121, 303, and 318
• Next to the Box Office

Bag Policy

Fans are encouraged not to bring bags into Kaseya Center. If you bring a bag with you, it must be a fanny pack, purse, or clear plastic bag no bigger than 10” x 6” x 2” and will need to pass through screening. 

Exceptions will be made for medical bags or parenting bags. However, they must go through x-ray screening at Gate 3 before being taken into the arena.

Bags that exceed the permitted size can be left in one of the Center’s rentable Binbox lockers. These are located at the Box Office and on the South Plaza above the steps at Gate 7. Strollers can also be checked in at Gate 7.

Tailgating

Tailgating is not permitted at Kaseya Center.
