History Of FedExForum
FedEx Forum is a multi-purpose indoor arena in the heart of downtown Memphis, Tennessee. The arena is home of the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies and the University of Memphis Tigers basketball team, who play in the NCAA Division I.
Other major sports venues in Memphis include AutoZone Park, home of the Memphis Redbirds baseball team and Memphis 901 FC soccer team, where the Memphis Tigers football team plays their home games.
The Grizzlies were founded in 1995 in Vancouver, Canada, and are named after the grizzly bear indigenous to British Columbia. The team moved to Memphis in 2001 and initially played their home games at the Memphis Pyramid.
Work started on the Grizzlies’ new home in May 2002. The Grizzlies played their first basketball game in their new home on October 14, 2004, beating the Cleveland Cavaliers 102-94 in a preseason game. The first regular season game took place against the Houston Rockets on November 3, 2004, resulting in an 88-71 victory for the Grizzlies.
The domed arena has an event level sunk below ground level and a maximum seating capacity of 18,119 for basketball games. The arena’s interior is decorated with murals of the biggest names associated with music in Memphis, including B.B. King, Elvis Presley, and Justin Timberlake.
There’s also a full-size practice court outside of the arena, which can be seen from inside the Grand Lobby.
In addition to basketball, FedEx Forum also hosts ice hockey games, WWE and MMA events, family shows, and live music concerts. Artists who have performed at FedEx Forum include Elton John, Mary J. Blige, and Lady Gaga.
Standard Seating at FedExForum
If you’re looking for affordable tickets for a Grizzlies game, FedEx Forum has plenty of great seats at a range of prices.
The prices below are an indication of the lowest ticket prices at Ticketmaster. Grizzlies tickets are also available on secondary market websites such as StubHub.
Plaza Level
The lower level at FedExForum is called the Plaza Level and this area contains all 100-level sections.
Sections 103A, 107A, 112A, and 116A and double-lettered rows at the rear of other lower level sections are located on FedEx Forum’s Pinnacle Level. However, standard seats in these sections don’t give access to the same premium amenities as the club seating on that level.
Plaza Level Side
Standard seats are available along the lower level sideline in rows L-V of sections 104, 106, 113, and 115. Premium Courtside Plaza seats take up sections 105, 114, and rows B-K of the other sideline sections.
Choosing seats in the standard seating areas along the sideline will give you a clear view from a slightly elevated position. You’ll also be closer to the concourse for visits to the concessions and restrooms.
Tickets in this location start at around $150 for seats in rows L and higher.
Plaza Level Corner
Corner sections on FedEx Forum’s Plaza Level are generally some of the cheapest lower level seats, but offer surprisingly good seat views.
The smaller sections, such as 111 and 108, look down the court, which gives a more comfortable viewing angle. However, the front row of these sections is further from the court, so it’s not a great choice if you want to get close to the action.
Sections ending in A are on the Pinnacle Level, which gives you a little extra elevation and a great view of the game.
Seats at the front of Plaza Level Corner sections will likely start at around $125. Sitting in the smaller sections further back could bring the starting price down to around $90.
Plaza Level End
FedEx Forum has two large sections at each baseline. Suite boxes fill the area at the rear of sections 109 and 110, while the rear areas of sections 101 and 118 have additional standard seating on the Pinnacle Level (rows AA-KK).
Seats at the front of these sections are just behind the rows of premium courtside seating. You’ll be close to the action in this location, but the basket will partly obstruct seat views and you’ll have a longer walk to the concession tunnel at the rear of the section.
Seat prices in Plaza Level End sections start at around $70 at the top of the section. Ticket prices will start at around $100-$120 if you sit closer to the court.
Terrace Level
The Terrace Level at FedEx Forum contains all 200-numbered sections. These are the farthest seats from the court, but you’ll find the cheapest Memphis Grizzlies tickets in these sections.
Most sections on the Terrace level have 15-25 rows of seats. Choosing seats in the first 10 rows will give you a better view of the court and video board, and you’ll have a shorter walk to the restrooms and concessions on the concourse.
Terrace Level Side
Terrace Level Side sections at FedExForum have 25 rows, making them the largest sections on the upper deck. As a result, there’s a big difference in the seat views from rows at the front and rear of the section.
Seats in the front row give you a good view over the court, especially if you can find tickets at midcourt in sections 224-225 and 208-209. Avoid seats in the top rows if possible, as you’ll face a long walk up steep steps to your seat.
Ticket prices on the Terrace Level sideline will likely start at $50-60 if you sit at the front of midcourt sections. If you’re willing to climb up to seats at the back, your tickets could start at $30-40.
Terrace Level Corner
Corner sections on the upper deck at FedEx Forum are an excellent place to find affordable Grizzlies seats. Sections angled down the court, such as sections 214 and 219, will give you a great view of the game as it develops across and along the hardwood.
The entrance tunnel is around rows F-G, so choosing rows below this will give you a better view and easier access to the concourse.
Seats in these sections start at around $30, making them a great value option for Grizzlies fans.
Terrace Level End
Terrace Level End sections have the cheapest tickets at Intuit Dome, and you can get a pretty good view of the game from this location. However, remember that the basket will partly obstruct your view, so choose seats closer to the corners if possible.
These are also the smallest sections on the FedEx Forum upper deck. Each has just 14 rows of seating, so they make a good choice if easy access to restrooms and concessions is a priority.
Seat prices in Terrace Level End sections could start at around $30. However, seats near the back of these sections are available on the secondary market for as little as $5-$10.
Standing Room Only
The Edge section is a dedicated fan area for Grizzlies supporters in sections 201 and 232. Tickets for this area are Standing Room Only and include access to a nearby outdoor space and an exclusive area with a cash bar, concessions, and HD TV screens.
Bear in mind that you won’t have access to a seat, and standing spots are available on a first-come-first-served basis. You could lose your spot if you go to the concessions or restrooms.
Accessible Seating
ADA-accessible seating is available on all levels of the FedEx Forum. However, availability varies between events, so check before purchasing your tickets.
Disabled visitors may purchase one companion seat alongside their ADA-accessible seat. Other guests will be accommodated nearby where possible.
A drop-off point for visitors with disabilities is located outside the entrance to FedEx Forum. All areas of the venue are accessible, and ramps, escalators, and elevators provide easy access between the venue’s levels.
2 escalators connecting the Plaza and Terrace levels are located near Plaza Level sections 104 and 116A and Terrace Level sections 210 and 225.
5 elevators connecting all public levels are located in the venue’s Northwest, Southwest and Southeast corners.
Accessible restrooms are available on all levels of the arena.
Restricted View Seating
Seats in sections along the baseline will have their views partly blocked by the basket, and the extent of the obstruction varies depending on your seat location.
You can minimize the impact on your view by choosing seats closer to the arena’s corners and further back in the section.
Which Are The Best Value Seats At FedExForum?
Standard seating at FedExForum offers excellent Memphis Grizzlies ticket options to suit every budget.
Here’s our pick of the best value seats for a Grizzlies game.
Best Value for Cheapest Price
You’ll find the cheapest seats at a Grizzlies game in the Terrace Level End sections, where tickets could cost as little as $10.
The view from here isn’t the best, but if you’re looking for cheap NBA tickets, these seats are hard to beat!
Best Value to Get Close to the Action
Front rows on the sideline are taken up by premium Courtside Plaza seating. Your best bet for getting close to the action lies in the front rows of larger Plaza Level Corner sections like 107 and 112.
You’ll be close to the action at your end of the court, but your view won’t be so good when the ball travels to the opposite end. Seats here start at around $125.
Best Value for a Great View
Heading up to the Terrace Level can give you a great view of a Grizzlies game at a very affordable price.
It’s worth considering lower rows in corner sections like 212 and 221. You’ll have a good view of the whole court, and seat prices start at just $30.
This is a similar price to the top rows of the large sideline sections, where you’ll be further from the court and won’t have such a good view.
Best Value for Visiting Fans
With premium seats taking up most of the lower sideline sections, visiting fans will get a better view at a lower price on the Terrace Level.
The visitors’ bench is in front of sections 209 and 210, but you might prefer to sit in sections 223 and 224 for a head-on view of your favorite team. Seats at the front of these sections start at around $50-60.
Best Premium And VIP Seats For A Memphis Grizzlies Game

Most Courtside Plaza tickets also include access to the WKND Hang Suite, an exclusive lounge with cash bars, specialty food menus, and comfortable lounge seating. If you purchase resale tickets on the secondary market, check with the seller to see what amenities are included.
