History Of Paycom Center

Paycom Center is a multi-use indoor arena in downtown Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. It’s home to the National Basketball Association’s Oklahoma City Thunder and has previously hosted the Oklahoma City Blazers ice hockey team and the New Orleans Hornets of the NBA.
Other major sports venues near Paycom Center include Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark, home of the Oklahoma City Dodgers baseball team, and Taft Stadium, where the USL’s OKC Energy FC play their home games.
Paycom Center has had several names in the past, including the Ford Center, Oklahoma City Arena, and Chesapeake Energy Arena. It took on its current name in July 2021 when Paycom signed a 15-year naming rights agreement.

Construction of the arena began in 1999, and Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey was the first event staged at the arena when it opened in June 2002. The building was designed to meet NBA and NHL specifications with a maximum seating capacity of 18,203 for basketball games and 15,152 for hockey.
From 2005 to 2007, the arena acted as a temporary home for the NBA’s New Orleans Hornets when Hurricane Katrina damaged their home venue, New Orleans Arena. The success of this arrangement led to discussions about permanently relocating a professional sports team to the arena.

Oklahoma City Thunder, previously known as Seattle SuperSonics, moved to Oklahoma in 2008 and have played their home games at the arena ever since. Their new name was chosen as a reference to both Oklahoma’s location in Tornado Alley and Oklahoma City’s local residents, U.S. Army’s 45th Infantry Division, who are known as the Thunderbirds.
Paycom Center also hosts National Hockey League preseason and exhibition games, family shows, live music concerts by top artists, including Elton John, Lady Gaga, and Tim McGraw, and other major events.
Standard Seating at Paycom Center
The Oklahoma City Thunder seating chart shows standard seating on the upper and lower levels at Paycom Center.
Prices below are indicative of seat prices at Ticketmaster, but you can also buy Thunder tickets on StubHub and other secondary market websites.
Lower Level Sideline

Lower Level Sideline sections offer the best seat views at a Thunder game, especially from midcourt sections 105-106 and 115-116. Sideline sections have up to 21 rows of seating, and the entrance tunnels are at the back of the section.
The front rows of sideline sections are taken up by premium Courtside Club seating. This makes Row A the first row of standard seating, and this location will still place you pretty close to the court.
All rows in sections 105, 106, 115, and 116 and Rows A-G in sections 104, 107, 114, and 117 have extra-padded seats. These seats are labeled Champion’s Club or Premier Seats on the OKC Thunder seating chart.
If you’d like to try and get an autograph from your favorite player, choose section 117 to sit behind the Thunder team bench or section 114 to sit behind the visiting team bench.
Alternatively, rows toward the back of sections 104 and 107 will give you a good head-on view of the benches from an elevated position. You’ll also have a shorter walk to the concessions and restrooms on the concourse from seats at the top of the section.
Standard ticket prices in Lower Level Sideline sections start at around $218 for seats at mid-court. If you move down the sideline towards the corners, seats towards the front of the section start at around $218, but you could pay around $143 for seats further back in the section.
Lower Level Corner

Corner sections offer some of the best value tickets on the Lower Level. The views here are generally better than baseline views, and you’ll find more affordable ticket prices compared to sideline seats.
Seats in the lowest rows of sections 113 and 118 are close to the team benches, so you’ll almost feel like you’re in courtside seats.
Choosing seats at the top of corner sections will mean you’re further from the court, but you’ll have a great view from their elevated height. You’ll also benefit from easy access to the concourse tunnel at the rear of the section.
Ticket prices in Lower Level Corner sections start at $128 for seats at the front of the section. Choose seats a few rows further back, and your tickets could cost as little as $90.
Lower Level End

Lower Level End sections are where you’ll find the cheapest lower-level Thunder tickets, but getting a good view of the action could be difficult.
All seats in these sections will have their view partly obstructed by the basket, especially if you sit directly behind the Courtside seats along the baseline.

For a better view, sit further back and choose lower-numbered seats in Sections 110 and 120 or higher-numbered seats in Sections 101 and 111. These seats are closer to the arena’s corners, and their sightlines give a less restricted view.
Lower Level End sections have up to 33 rows, making them the largest sections at Paycom Center. Double-lettered rows are at the front of the section, right behind the premium Courtside Club seats. You’ll be close to the action, but the shallow angle between rows of seats means taller fans in front of you could block your view.
Sitting further back in the section gives a clearer view of the court and also gives you quicker access to the entry tunnel at the top of the section.
Seats in the first few rows of Lower Level End sections start at $128. Tickets start at $90 for seats further back, and you might find tickets even cheaper than this on the secondary market.
Upper Level – Love’s Loud City
The upper deck at Paycom Center is known as Love’s Loud City for Thunder games. Most sections in the Upper Level have 20 rows of seats, and the entrance tunnel is located near the front of the section.
Balcony Seats

Tickets for the front rows of sideline sections on Love’s Loud City are labeled as Balcony or Premier Balcony. These are the best upper deck seats at Paycom seats and have an excellent view of the court.
Premier Balcony seats are right at the front of sideline sections, and the rows just behind are labeled as Balcony seats. Premier Balcony seats at the front of midcourt sections on the upper level start at $83, and you could pay prices starting at just $30 for the Balcony seats further back.
Mezzanine and Plaza Seats

The next best seats on the Upper Level have tickets labeled as Mezzanine or Plaza seats. These are located in the top half of the sideline sections, all rows in corner sections, and the front rows of upper-level end sections.
Mezzanine seats in the front rows of Upper Level Corner sections offer a great balance of views and value. You’ll have an excellent view as the game moves across and along the court but without the obstructed seat views from Upper Level End sections.
Mezzanine seats start at $22, making them a great value option for watching a Thunders game.
Loft Seats

Loft seats are located in the higher rows of Upper Level End sections. These are the cheapest seats at a Thunder game, but you’ll be pretty far from the court, and the basket will obstruct your view from this location.
The front rows of end sections generally have good sightlines, but remember that the basket will partly obstruct your view.
Loft seats start at just $13, however you might prefer to pay a little extra for Mezzanine seats.
Accessible Seating
Accessible tickets at Paycom Center are available on all levels, including the Club and Suite levels. You may purchase up to 3 companion seats with each ADA-accessible seat, and these are usually as close as possible to the accessible seats.
Visitors with disabilities may be dropped off near the entrances at Reno and Robinson.
Escalators are available near the main public entrances, and there are also 3 sets of elevators connecting the arena’s levels.
All 48 restrooms at Paycom Center are accessible to visitors with disabilities.
Restricted View Seating
The basket will partly obstruct the view from seats behind the baseline. This obstruction should be less of a problem if you select seats located closer to the corners and further back in the section.
