History Of Caesars Superdome

Caesars Superdome is an indoor multi-purpose stadium in the Central Business District of New Orleans, Louisiana. It’s the home of the NFL team, the New Orleans Saints. The stadium is the world’s largest fixed domed structure, with a diameter of 680 feet (207 m), and has a standard seating capacity of 73,208 for football games.

Originally named the Louisiana Superdome when it opened in 1975, the stadium was first renamed as the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, and then underwent its most recent name change to Caesars Superdome in 2011. However, most people simply know it as the Superdome.

The Saints moved to the Superdome after playing at Tulane Stadium for the previous eight seasons. Their first match at the new stadium was a 21-0 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.

As well as NFL football, the Superdome hosts several other sporting events including basketball, boxing, rugby union and soccer. It has hosted seven Super Bowls, five men’s college basketball NCAA championships, and plays host to the annual college football Sugar Bowl.

The Superdome is also scheduled to host Super Bowl LIX in 2025, so keep reading to find out where to sit if you’re looking to score a ticket for this highly anticipated event.

During the 2005 Hurricane Katrina, thousands of people took shelter in the stadium, which suffered extensive storm damage. The stadium was closed for several months and reopened on September 25, 2006, with a 23–3 win for the Saints against the Atlanta Falcons.

Standard Seating at Caesars Superdome

Caesars Superdome has standard seating on the 100, 200, 300, 500, and 600 Levels of the stadium.

However, the seating levels at Caesars Superdome often straddle two levels of the stadium. For example, Loge Level Corner sections have rows 1-4 on the 200 level and the remaining 13 rows of sections on the 300 level.

Choosing the best New Orleans Saints tickets will help you enjoy the best possible game day experience. The prices below are for regular season games, and you might find cheaper tickets for preseason games.

Although SeatGeek is the Saints official retail partner, you may find better pricing and availability on secondary market sites such as Ticketmaster or StubHub.

Here’s our guide to the best standard seating at the Superdome.

Plaza Level Corner

Corner seating on the Plaza Level can provide a good alternative to premium sideline seating on the Superdome’s lower level. Seats in these locations let you watch the game developing across the full width and length of the field.

You could pay around $275 for front row tickets or as little as $145 for seats further back.

The small corner sections 106, 122, 134, and 150 are located above tunnel entrances and have 14 rows numbered 23-36.

Sections like 109, 119, 137, and 147 have 22 rows numbered 15-36. These sections are V-shaped, with fewer seats in rows at the front of the section than those at the back.

Plaza Level End Zone

Most Plaza Level End Zone seating is arranged in large sections with 29 rows. Rows 1-19 often carry a premium price tag, thanks to their proximity to the field.

Seats in the first rows are very close to the action when the ball comes to your end of the field. These seats can start from $700+, but this is good value for a prime location.

Seats further back in the section will cost less, so you can expect to pay prices from around $150-200.

Loge Level Corner

The sideline sections on the Loge Level are occupied by Loge Club premium seating.

Loge Level Corner sections have 17 rows. Rows 1-4 are on the stadium’s 200 level, and the remaining 13 rows are located on the 300 level. The section entrance is placed at row 5.

The front rows in these sections offer a great view of the action from an elevated position. Expect tickets to start around $150 for most seats on the 300 level, but you may pay more for tickets in the front rows

Loge Level End Zone

The elevated position of the Loge Level at Caesars Superdome gives End Zone sections an excellent head-on view of the field. This means there’s no need to turn your head to follow the action, making Loge Level End Zone tickets a good value way to catch a Saints game in comfort.

Each End Zone section on the Loge Level has 17 rows of seating. Rows 1-4 are on the 200 level and prices here start around $200. Rows 5-17 are on the 300 level and cost a little less, generally starting at around $150.

Upper Level Sideline

If you want to sit along the sideline without paying club prices, Upper Level Sideline seating offers a great view of the game and affordable ticket prices, making them some of the best-value sections at the Superdome.

The Upper Level Sideline areas include 500-Level seating (Upper Boxes) in rows 1-6 and 600-Level seating (Terrace Seats) in the rest of the rows.

These are some of the largest sections at the Superdome, with as many as 36 rows in each section. However, seating entrances at rows 7 and 25 mean that fans at the back of upper floor sections won’t face too many stairs.

Prices start from around $150 for Upper Box seats and can go as low as $55 for Terrace seats towards the back of the sections.

Upper Level Corner

Upper Level Corner sections have up to 34 rows in each section. 500-Level Upper Box seats are located in the first six rows of each section, and 600-Level Terrace Seats cover the remainder of the rows.

Expect to pay prices from $150 for front row corner seats, with prices dropping closer to $100 if you sit a few rows further back.

The seats at the back of these sections are the furthest from the field at Caesars Superdome, and prices here start from $40.

Upper Level End Zone

Upper Level End Zone seats are a low-cost option for watching a Saints game. However, they’re also some of the furthest from the action, especially when the play is at the opposite end of the stadium.

They’re also some of the cheapest seats at the Superdome, with ticket prices starting at $55 for the front rows and $40 for seats nearer the back.

There are up to 21 rows of seats in each Terrace Level End Zone section. The entrance tunnel is at row 5, so choose seats around there to avoid a long walk to and from your seat.

Upper Box End Zone sections 501-503, 529-533 and 559 are set in an overhang just above the Loge Level. This brings them much closer to the field than other Terrace Level sections, resulting in a great view of the action.

Tickets at the front of these sections are a great value option for Saints tickets. Prices here generally start from $200 but you may find some tickets cheaper.

Accessible Seating

ADA seating at the Superdome is located on the Plaza Level and includes wheelchair-accessible seating, semi-ambulatory seating, and seats with removable armrests.

Guests purchasing an accessible seat may also purchase one companion ticket for an adjacent seat. This may be a folding chair instead of stadium seating.

The Superdome has 10 passenger elevators including 6 accessible elevators. Elevators are prioritized for guests with disabilities.

Accessible facilities are available in all restrooms at Caesars Superdome, and there are also accessible restrooms on the stadium’s Ground Level.

Restricted View Seating

Seats at Caesars Superdome generally have good visibility so it’s pretty hard to pick a bad seat. You can check the view from specific seats on the New Orleans Saints 3D Seating Map

Standing Room Only

Caesars Superdome has recently introduced Standing Room Only tickets for NFL games.

SRO ticket holders don’t have a seat, but instead they can stand in one of the standing room areas. These are located in the four corners of the Superdome on the 200, 500, and 600 levels, and SRO prices start at around $175 on the 200 level or $60 on the higher levels.

SRO tickets are very popular for sold-out Saints games when resale tickets can be much more expensive than usual.

Which Are The Best Value Seats At Caesars Superdome?

If you want to watch a New Orleans Saints game without breaking your budget, here are some of the best options for standard seating at Caesars Superdome.

Best Value for Cheapest Price

Upper Level End Zone tickets start from $40-55, depending on your chosen row. These seats are a great value option for watching a Saints game, but they’re pretty far from the action.

If you’re happy to stand, the Standing Room Only area on the 500 level has prices starting from around $60.

Best Value to Get Close to the Action

When play reaches your end of the field, the front few rows of the Plaza Level end zone sections are the best place for getting close to the action.

This is a prime location and the $700 price tag reflects that. However, if you’re happy to sit a few rows further back, you might find tickets closer to $200.

Best Value for a Great View

Tickets at the front of the Upper Box End Zone overhang (sections 501-503, 529-533, and 559) start at around $200. These seats offer a great view of the game, and you may find seats a little further back for $150.

Best Value for Visiting Fans

Upper Box seats on the visitors sideline offer a great view from a slightly elevated position behind the visiting team’s sideline. With prices starting at $150, sections 515 and 517 are an excellent option for visiting fans.

Best Premium And VIP Seats For A New Orleans Saints Game

Superdome premium clubs are upscale lounge spaces that enjoy great views of the game. Guests can take advantage of upscale catering and amenities for an excellent game day experience.

Premium ticket holders can access Superdome club lounges from two hours before kickoff until one hour after the game ends.

If you can’t find your preferred premium seats on SeatGeek or TicketMaster, it’s worth checking the secondary market on sites such as StubHub. Club members often resell unwanted tickets there.

Mercedes Benz End Zone Club

The Mercedes Benz End Zone Club is located at the north end of the Ground Level at the Superdome, above the End Zone suites.

Access to this club space is available to Field Level suites 1-12 and sections 154c-104c where tickets are available from around $600.

The club offers a premium lounge space, large screens, and bar areas. Guests can also enjoy complimentary beers, wines, and snacks.

  • Private game day entrance
  • All-inclusive snacks and drinks

Saints Club Seats

Saints Club seats cover sections located near the 50 yard line on each side of the stadium. Saints fans will prefer to sit in sections 141-143 in front of the home team sideline. If you’re a visiting fan, your favorite team’s sideline will be in front of sections 113-115.

You’ll get the best view from seats in row 10 or slightly higher, which give you the elevation you need to see all corners of the field.

The best tickets start from around $1000 for front row seats in these areas or $250 for seats further back.

Ticket holders in these Plaza Level sideline sections can also access an exclusive club space on their side of the stadium.

Caesars Rewards Legacy Club

This club is located on the Ground Level on the east side of Caesars Superdome. It is available to ticket holders seated in sections 113-115.

Crown Royal Signature Club

Guests with tickets for sections 141-143 can access this lounge, which is located on the Ground Level on the west side of the stadium.

These lounges feature high-quality refreshments and amenities.

  • Comfortable seating
  • Large number of screens showing NFL games
  • Premium food and drink options
  • Upscale restrooms

Loge Club

Loge Club seats are considered some of the very best seats for a New Orleans Saints game. The Loge Club sections run along each sideline on the 200 and 300 levels and have some of the best views at Caesars Superdrome.

200-Level Loge Club sections are around 35 rows from the field. Each section has just four rows, so you won’t face a long walk to and from your seat. Front row tickets in these small sections start from around $600.

The 300-Level Loge Club seating is located directly behind the 200-Level sections, so row 5 is the front row. Expect to pay prices around $300-400 for Loge Level seats at the front of these sections.

Loge Club Lounge

Loge Club ticket holders also enjoy access to the Loge Club Lounge, which has large TV screens, premium refreshments, and stunning views over New Orleans.

  • Elevated views of the game
  • Premium amenities
  • Club-exclusive concessions
  • Full-service bar

Fans in the Loge Club seats will be treated to a premium experience during Saints home games. Ticket holders have access to the upscale Loge Club lounge areas, which offer premium food and beverage options and a full-service bar.

Caesars Legends Club

This club is located on the east side of the Loge Level and is open to ticket holders in the following locations:

  • East Plaza Club sections 111-112 and 116-117
  • Caesars Rewards Legacy Club sections 113-115
  • East Loge Club sections 207c/304c–235c/320c

Luxury Suites at Caesars Superdome

Caesars Superdome has 165 luxury suites located on three levels of the stadium. These are ideal for corporate entertainment or celebrating a special occasion with a large group of guests.

Access to Caesars Superdome suites is generally sold for a full season, but you may be able to hire a suite for a single game or on a three-game plan.

Field Level

Caesars Superdome’s 12 newest suites can accommodate 21-24 guests and have a location that gets you as close as possible to the game. Field level suites give you access to indoor and outdoor seating, an in-suite food and beverage package, and club lounge access.

  • Excellent view of the game
  • 2 parking passes
  • Private entrance at Gate C
  • In-suite catering service
  • Dedicated suite attendant

Which Is The Best Premium Seating Option At Caesars Superdome?

Plaza Level sections 113-115 and 141-143 offer excellent views from the lowest level of the stadium. Sections 113-115 are behind the New Orleans Saints bench, making them some of the most desirable seats in the stadium.

Sections 221-223 and 263-265 have incredible views from midfield, and their elevated position allows you to see across the entire span of the field.

Tickets in these sections also grant access to one of Caesars Superdome’s premium club spaces, where you can enjoy high-quality refreshments and amenities.

If you are looking for the best option for entertaining a group of friends, family, or business clients, Superdome’s 165 luxury suites enjoy top-notch amenities, catering options, and views of the field.

Which Seats Are Shaded At Caesars Superdome?

Caesars Superdome is an indoor stadium, so you don’t have to worry about finding great seats in the shade.

Which Are The Best Seats for Families At Caesars Superdome?

Children under two years old don’t need their own ticket for admission to NFL games at Caesars Superdome. However, they must sit on an adult’s lap throughout the game.

Sections 205 and 247 give a good view from the second tier at the Superdome and are also close to restrooms and concessions. If you want a less expensive option for family tickets, sections 302 and 303 on the upper deck also offer good access to amenities.

Family-friendly Facilities

Baby-changing facilities are available in restrooms on all levels of the stadium. Caesars Superdome also provides rooms for nursing mothers in the following locations:

  • Mercedes-Benz End Zone Club on the Ground Level
  • Sections 109/111 and 117/119 on the Plaza Level
  • Sections 215/217 on the Loge Level
  • Section 511/513, 521/523, and 535 on the Lower Terrace Level
  • Section 614 on the Upper Terrace Level

Parents and guardians can enroll their kids in the Superdome’s “If Lost Program” at the Guest Relations Center. Kids will receive a wristband carrying their adult’s contact details, making it easier to reunite them if separated.

Where Should Visitors Sit At Caesars Superdome?

Tickets for Plaza Level sections 113-115 are popular with visiting fans as these sections are directly behind the visiting team’s sideline. However, these are premium seats, and the prices reflect their desirable location, with front-row tickets available from around $1000.

If you’re looking for a more affordable option, you could try sections 515 and 517 on the Upper Level where tickets are available from around $150.

Where To Sit At Caesars Superdome For The Best Food

Caesars Superdome has a wide range of food and beverage concessions on all levels throughout the stadium.

As well as all the usual game day favorites like burgers, hotdogs, pretzels, and popcorn, the best food at a Saints game includes:

  • Tony Chachere’s jambalaya from Bayou Kitchen & Market (sections 104, 113, 153, 515, and 559)
  • NOLA style PoBoy sandwiches from Dressed or Not (sections 217 and 513)
  • Chicken Street tacos from Mercado Tortillas (sections 112 and 519)

Grab & Go Markets offer quick, self-service food options throughout the stadium. Further food and drink concessions, rest rooms and other amenities are also available in the Outdoor Plaza Concourse.

Best Seats For a Concert at Caesars Superdome

Concerts at the Superdome usually have an end-stage set up with the stage located near sections 119, 121, and 122. The seating layout may vary between each individual event, and some live events may include features such as General Admission areas, B-stages, and fan pits. Be sure to check the seating plans for your event before you book.

If your event has general admission tickets available, these concert tickets don’t have a seat but will give you access to one of the General Admission (GA) areas. Spaces are taken on a first-come-first-served basis and the prime viewing positions go quickly, so arrive early to secure the best spot.

Field seat sections such as Field A will have numbered folding seats. Floor seats are in front of the stage and give you the closest view of the performers. They’re generally considered to be the best seats for a Superdome concert. However, if you’re on the short side, you might struggle to see from field seats in rows further back.

Choosing seating sections to the side of the stage will still get you close to the performers. The elevated position will give you a clearer view of the performance and you’ll have fixed stadium seating. Sections 115-116 and 140-141 are good choices in this area.

Sections at the opposite end of the stadium, such as sections 101-102, have a direct head-on view of the stage. You’ll be further from the performers than if you chose field seats, but it’s a more comfortable viewing angle.

You could also consider sections in the upper level such as 615-616 to the side of the stage. These have an unobstructed view and a lower price tag, but you won’t see as much detail as from sections closer to the stage.

Things to Consider

Some Caesars Superdome events sell tickets for seats behind the stage such as sections 119, 121, 122, and 124. However, remember that you won’t see much of the show from this position.

If you’re booking tickets for side sections, choosing locations nearer the stage will give a more comfortable viewing angle than sections closer to the other end of the stadium. Head-on sections would be a better option if you can’t get seats in sections close to the stage.

Logistics at Caesars Superdome

Contactless Entry

Caesars Superdome uses contactless entry to make your entry into the stadium quicker and easier.

You can access your tickets using the SeatGeek app or the Saints app which is available for Apple, Android, or Windows devices.

Your mobile ticket will show your seating location and how to find concessions and amenities. It will also indicate which gates you should use to enter and leave the stadium.

To avoid delays at the gate, you should ensure that all adults have downloaded their tickets to their mobile phone before arriving at the stadium. Printed copies or screenshots will not be accepted at the gate.

Reverse ATMs

Caesars Superdome operates cashless payment for all purchases including concessions, merchandising, and parking. You can make payment using credit cards, debit cards, and mobile apps including Apple Pay, Google Wallet, and Samsung Pay.

If you need to convert cash into a prepaid debit card, you’ll find reverse ATMs in Champions Square and the Outdoor Plaza, as well as near Gates A, C, E & G.

Prepaid debit cards are available in $25 and $50 denominations and can be used anywhere that accepts debit cards.

Bag Policy

All guests at Caesars Superdome must go through walkthrough security screening before entering the stadium.

The Superdome has a clear-bag policy for NFL games, in line with the NFL’s league-wide “All Clear” bag policy

The following types of bags are permitted:

  • 1 clear bag per person measuring no more than 12” x 12” x 6”
  • 1 small non-clear clutch bag or purse per person measuring no more than 4.5” x 6.5”
  • 1 clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc) per person, holding no more than one gallon

Medical bags and items may be brought into the stadium after inspection.

No non-clear bags are permitted, and no food and beverages of any kind can be brought into the Superdome. You can see a list of prohibited items on the Caesars Superdome website.

Concerts and other live events at the Superdome

The maximum bag size permitted at non-NFL events is 12” x 12” x 6”, however this may vary between events.

Tailgating

Tailgating is not allowed in the parking lots at Caesars Superdome, but there are several popular tailgating spots in the area around the stadium.

The only tailgating option at Caesars Superdome is the Champion’s Square VIP tailgate, which is only available to ticketed guests. It opens three hours before the scheduled kickoff, and the entertainment runs until 45 minutes before the game’s scheduled start.

Which are The Best Seats At Caesars Superdome?

Caesars Superdome is one of the most iconic NFL venues, and its seating options offer something to suit all budgets.

If you’re looking for affordable Saints tickets, the Upper Level End Zone has seats starting from around $40-50, while Standing Room Only tickets are available from $60.

Football fans with a little more to spend might prefer the prime location of the Plaza Level end zone, where front row tickets cost around $700 but get you up close to the action.

The Superdome’s premium club tickets offer a VIP experience with prices ranging from $250 to $1000+. The excellent sightlines, upscale refreshments, and elevated amenities that accompany these seats ensure you’ll enjoy an exceptional Saints experience.

Whichever option you choose, the passionate fans and electric atmosphere will surely give you a New Orleans experience to remember. Are you ready to buy your tickets?
