History Of Paycor Stadium

Paycor Stadium is an outdoor football stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio, and home of the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League (NFL). It replaced their previous home at the Riverfront Stadium, which they shared with the Cincinnati Reds baseball team. 

Paycor Stadium was originally known as Paul Brown Stadium until a naming rights deal was signed in 2022 with Cincinnati-based Paycor HCM Inc. Bengals fans also know the stadium as The Jungle, and it has a maximum seating capacity of 65,515. 

The stadium’s unusual design has curved sidelines that angle sections towards the midfield, and its east end zone has sections of varying sizes. Two large HD video boards at either end of the stadium ensure every ticket holder can follow the action.

Work started on the stadium in April 1998, and the Bengals’ new home opened on August 19, 2000. The Cincinnati Bengals’ first game in the new stadium was a pre-season 24–20 victory over the Chicago Bears. 

In addition to hosting NFL games, Paycor Stadium has also hosted college football games for the Cincinnati Bearcats from the University of Cincinnati and the Ohio State Buckeyes from Ohio State University.

Standard Seating at Paycor Stadium

100 Level

Seats on the lowest level at Paycor Stadium are a great way to watch a Bengals game. These sections have the closest seats to the field, so you can see your football heroes up close. 

Lower Level Sideline 

Sections 104-116 and 134-146 are located along the sideline at field level, making them some of the best standard seats at Paycor Stadium.

The curved layout of Paycor Stadium’s field level sections means that the front row of midfield sections 139-141 is about 10-15 yards further from the field than sections near the 20-yard line. 20-yard line sections are angled towards midfield, so they get a good view, but it also means that midfield seats are further from the side of the field than at some other NFL stadiums.

Seats in sections 109-111 are behind the Cincinnati Bengals bench, while sections 139-141 are behind the visitors bench. Seats in the first few rows will get you closer to your favorite team, but your view might be blocked by players standing on the sideline. Choose seats above row 15 to avoid this problem.

Seats in rows 24 and higher in midfield sections 106-114 and 136-144 are the best standard seats for a Bengals game. You’ll have an excellent view of the whole field and be within easy reach of the concourse tunnel. 

Some Lower Level Sideline sections near the goal lines have as many as 37 rows. If you go back to rows 34 and above, you’ll have shelter from the overhang but a longer walk to the restrooms and concessions. 

Front row seats at midfield start at around $850-1000+, but they might only cost around $350-500 further back in the sections. Seats at the front of sections close to the 20-yard line start at around $300-400, and you may find tickets for around $250-400 further back in the section.

Lower Level Corner 

You’ll find some of the best field level views near the back of corner sections like 130-132. These seats are further from the field, but their elevated position lets you see clearly to the opposite end of the field. 

Sections 120 and 122 are on either side of the visiting team tunnel, while the Bengals’ tunnel is between sections 158 and 160.

Tickets for the first row in corner sections start at around $250-450. Seats further back could start from $200-300, making them a great value way to watch the Bengals.

Lower Level End Zone 

Paycor Stadium’s unique design is easy to see when you get to the field level end zones. 

The west end of the stadium has 3 standard seating sections, each with 40 rows of seating. However, sections 152-156 at the east end of the stadium have between 50 and 60 rows of seating, which is unusually large for an NFL stadium. 

If you opt for seats in these large sections, choose seats in rows 35-45 for elevated views of the field and a shorter walk to the concourse. 

These sections also have some of the cheapest field level seats at Paycor Stadium. You can expect to pay around $400-500 for front row seats and around $200-300 at the back of the section.

200 Level

200 Level standard seats are on the same level as the premium Club seating, so they enjoy the same excellent view. However, these seats don’t provide any access to the club lounges and premium amenities. 

These sections have 20-32 rows of seating, with the entrance tunnel at row 12. 

200 Level Corner

200 Level Corner sections don’t benefit from club level perks, but still have an excellent view of the game from an elevated position. You’ll enjoy a great viewing angle for scoring plays in the end zone at your end of the stadium. 

Rows 20+ of sections 202, 232, and 248 also receive some shelter from the 300 Level overhang.

Tickets in these areas start around $175-200 but can rise to $600+.

200 Level End Zone 

Sections 222-230 are located at the northwest end zone on the second tier of Paycor Stadium. These seats enjoy great views of the Ohio River and a head-on view of the game.

Avoid sitting above row 20 as these seats have poor views of the field and can be uncomfortably cold and windy. You’ll find some of the cheapest Cincinnati Bengals tickets here, starting around $150, but it’s worth paying a little more for better seats.

Seats in the first 10 rows of 200 level End Zone sections have much better views and aren’t as cold. Tickets here start at $200-250. 

300 Level

The 300 Level is the top tier of seating at Paycor Stadium, with standard seating sections running along both sidelines. 

Upper Level Sideline

The upper tier at Paycor Stadium is one of the largest in the NFL. Each section has nearly 40 rows divided into upper and lower areas with an entrance tunnel at row 12. Choosing the right row will make a big difference to your game-day experience. 

If you want to avoid walking up stairs, rows 7-19 will give you the quickest journey to your seat and easy access to the concourse. However, avoid seats near the aisles in these rows, as the view is obstructed by other seats and safety railings. 

Seats above row 19 will have a longer walk but have the advantage of cover from the roof. 

Seats at the front of upper deck sections will have the best views, especially in sections 308-312 and 338-342 near midfield. Sections 315-317 will also give you a view over the Ohio River, while sections 345-347 have a good view of the west video board.

Expect to pay around $300 for front row seats at the 50-yard line or $180-200 for higher rows in midfield sections. Moving closer to the 20-yard line, tickets in the first few rows could cost around $150-250, while seats further back start at $140-160.

Accessible Seating

Over 1000 ADA-accessible seats are available on all three levels of Paycor Stadium. Seats are available on a first-come-first-served basis, and you should contact the ticket office before your visit or visit the North Ticket box office on game day to arrange ADA seating.

ADA ticket holders plus one companion can use the elevators on the East and West sides of the stadium.

Restricted View Seating

Railings and other seats will partly block the view of the field from seats near the aisles in rows 10-17 on the 300 level.

Parking at Paycor Stadium is limited, and buying your parking in advance is recommended. 

The 8 surface lots open 4 hours before kickoff, while the 4 garage lots open 6 hours before kickoff.

Arriving by Public Transportation

The limited parking at Paycor Stadium makes public transportation a great choice for game day. 

The Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky (TANK) operates buses from Northern KY to stops near the stadium, and the Southbank Shuttle offers $1 services every 15 minutes from areas along the Covington and Newport riverfronts.

Queen City Riverboats operate game day services from The Beer Sellar and Hooters. Trips to the stadium cost $6, and your return journey is free when you present your original ticket. Ridesharing arrangements

The rideshare location for drop-offs and pick-ups is on 2nd Street between Vine and Walnut.

When To Arrive For A Paycor Stadium Game

Paycor Stadium has 7 ADA-accessible gates that open 90 minutes before the scheduled kickoff for Cincinnati Bengals home games.

If you need to convert cash into a prepaid debit card, you’ll find cash-to-card kiosks near Gate B on the north side of the stadium and Gate E on the south side. 

Bag Policy

Fans are encouraged not to bring any bags with them to Paycor Stadium. If you do wish to bring a bag into the stadium, it must meet the requirements of the NFL clear bag policy.

You can bring in 1 clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bag that doesn’t exceed 12x6x12” or 1 one-gallon clear resealable freezer bag such as a Ziploc bag.

Your clear bag can be a clear backpack, clear fanny pack or purse, or clear cinch bags as long as it fits within the dimensions above.

In addition to one of the above clear bags, you can also bring a clutch purse no later than 4.5×6.5”. Medically necessary items may also be brought into the stadium after inspection.

Tailgating

Paycor Stadium is a popular venue for tailgating, and you can tailgate before the game in all parking lots around the stadium. However, you can only cook over an open flame if you’re parked in one of the surface parking lots 1, 1U, A, B, D, E, and Hilltop. These open 4 hours before kickoff. 

All parking lots close 2 hours after the end of the event, and you must leave the lot at closing time.
