History Of Lambeau Field
Lambeau Field is located in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and is the home field of the National Football League team, the Green Bay Packers. It’s the oldest continually operating stadium in the NFL, and the third-longest active home-field tenure in American professional sports, beaten only by the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park and the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field.
The stadium opened in 1957 under its original name of City Stadium. It was renamed in August 1965 in honor of the Packers founder, player, and head coach, Earl “Curly” Lambeau.
After major renovations, Lambeau Field now has a total capacity of 81,441. This makes it the second-largest NFL stadium and the largest sporting venue in the state of Wisconsin.
Lambeau Field’s 1950s design gives it a very open layout with few overhangs, resulting in very few obstructed views but also very little shade. The stadium retains traditional outside bench seats throughout the lower bowl, while the new South End Zone development has modern stadium-style seating.
Wisconsin winters can be brutal, with overnight temperatures dipping down as low as 7.1°F in January. For this reason, the stadium is famously known as the “Frozen Tundra,” and its indoor seating is highly desired by football fans at the stadium.
The Green Bay Packers are also famous for their team’s exuberant celebration known as the “Lambeau Leap,” which sees Packers players jump into the end zone stands after scoring a touchdown. This is one of the NFL’s time-honored traditions, dating back to 1993, and was even enshrined in the rules banning most NFL teams from excessive celebrations.
Standard Seating at Lambeau Field
Lambeau Field offers standard seating at a range of prices on the 100, 300, 600, and 700-Levels of the stadium.
The lower bowl seating is on aluminum bench-style bleachers with no back support. You can bring your own chair backs or seat cushions, or opt to rent portable seat backs at the gates that serve these sections of the stadium. A $10 rental fee is payable using cashless payment methods.
The South End Zone is a recent addition to Lambeau Field, and these sections have regular stadium-style seating.
All of the ticket prices below are standard pricing for regular-season games. Prices will be lower for preseason games, and you may find different pricing on secondary market sites such as Ticketmaster or StubHub.
100-Level Sideline Seating
Located along the sidelines on Lambeau Field’s lowest tier, 100 Level Sideline sections offer some of the best standard seats for a Packers game.
Lower level sideline sections have 61 rows of seats, and the front rows are very close to the action. However, the high number of rows in Lambeau Field’s shallow lower bowl means that the back rows are quite a distance from the front of the section.
Sections on the west side of the field are even numbered. This is the “Home Side” or “Packers’ Side,” and Packers Fans will want to choose sections 116, 118, 120, 122, and 124 to sit behind the home team sideline.
The “Visitors Side” is on the east side of the field and has odd-numbered sections. Visiting fans can sit behind their team’s sideline in sections 115, 117, 119, 121, and 123.
Sections 119 and 120 are located right at midfield, making them some of the most desirable general seats at Lambeau Field.
Seats in midfield sections 115-124 cost $175, while seats in sections further towards the ends of the sidelines (109-113 and 125-130) cost $155.
100-Level Corner Seating
100-Level Corner sections give you a unique view of the field from the corners of the lower bowl. Sitting in the front rows of these 60-row sections will bring you very close to the action, and you’ll get a great view of touchdowns in the end zone near you.
Entry tunnels are at Row 22 and at the top of the section, so choose these locations if you want a quick exit to the concession stands and restrooms.
The teams enter and exit the field through the tunnel under section 131, and booking seats in section 133 gives a great up-close view of your favorite players.
Tickets in the corner sections of the 100-Level are available for $135.
100-Level End Zone
100-Level End Zones are some of the most exciting areas to watch a Green Bay Packers game. Choose seats in the first four rows, and you’ll be in the best position to watch touchdowns and the famous Lambeau Leap.
Lower level end zone sections have 60 rows of numbered seating, meaning that rows at the back are a pretty long distance from the field. Tickets in these field-level end zone sections cost $135.
300-Level Sideline
The 300-Level is more like an extension of the 100-Level, so these sideline sections are located just behind the 100 Level seats instead of on a higher level.
The sideline location gives you excellent sightlines to all areas of the field, especially if you manage to get seats on the 50-yard line in section 326.
Most sections have 10-12 rows, so you won’t have a long walk from your seats to the 300-level concourse. You also enjoy easy access to the main concourse on the 100 Level, making these sections a good choice for fans who want a wide range of concessions.
Ticket prices for sections in the midfield (322-330) cost $175, and tickets for sections nearer the ends of the sidelines (314-320 and 332-338) cost $155.
300-Level End Zone
These sections are located at the very top of the lower bowl at Lambeau Field. The view from this position is good when the ball is at your end of the field, but you might find it harder to follow the action at the far end of the field. The videoboards will help you keep in touch with the game.
Like other sections in the lower bowl, 300-Level End Zone sections have bench-style bleacher seats with no back support.
There are just 12 rows in each of the 300-Level End Zone sections, making it easy to get to your seat.
Seats in 300-Level end zone sections cost $135, making these sections an attractive option if you’re looking for cheap tickets to watch the Packers.
600-Level South End Zone
Unlike seating in the stadium’s inner bowl, 600-Level and 700-Level sections in the new South End Zone have modern stadium seating with chair backs and cup holders. The 600-level sections have wider seats than the 700-level sections, and these sections are also a little closer to the game than the 700-Level.
You might struggle to keep up when the ball moves to the far end of the field, but the video boards allow you to follow the action. There’s also a wide choice of concessions and restrooms in this area.
Tickets in this area cost $145, so if you’re not so bothered about being close to the action, they’re a good-value way to enjoy the fun atmosphere of a Packers game.
700-Level South End Zone
700-Level South End Zone seating are the highest seats at Lambeau Field.
Unlike the seating in the stadium’s inner bowl, these sections have modern stadium seating with chair backs and cup holders. The seats are a little narrower than the 600 Level seating, and you’re further away from the action. However, the sections have just 18 rows, so accessing your seat is easy, and you have a good choice of concessions nearby.
At $132, these are the cheapest seats at Lambeau Field and a good option for watching a Packers game without blowing your budget. However, you might think it’s worth paying a little extra for a closer location.
Accessible Seating
Accessible seating is available throughout Lambeau Field and on most price levels. However, they are only available as season tickets, and single-game tickets are not sold for accessible seats.
Season ticket holders may request one wheelchair space and up to three companion seats when available.
Elevators and escalators between seating levels are available throughout the stadium, and three ramps provide access to the upper-level concourse.
All gates, concourses, and restrooms at Lambeau Field are fully accessible. Restrooms are available on all levels throughout the stadium, and the family restroom on level 1 of the Atrium has an electric changing table suitable for adults and larger children.
Restricted View Seating
Lambeau Field’s open design and lack of roofs or overhangs means very few seats have obstructed views, so it’s hard to pick a bad seat.
The flip side to this is that very few seats enjoy any shade from the elements.
Standing Room Only
Standing Room Only areas are available at the back of the 400-Level sections at the south end zone. These tickets are only available for selected games.

Which Seats Are Shaded At Lambeau Field?
Lambeau Field has an open design, so very few seats have any shade or cover.
All lower bowl seating is open to the elements. Indoor club seats around sections 470-474 will be covered, or if you prefer a more elevated view, opt for 600-level sections around 670-674.
400s sections in the South End Zone are all outside, but the suites and 600-level seating above offer some shelter.
Seats towards the back of the 600s and 700s sections have some cover.
Which Are The Best Seats for Families At Lambeau Field?
Due to the tight seating configuration, all visitors to Lambeau Field, including babies, must have a ticket.
Choosing seats towards the back of sections 113, 115, and 117 will place you close to the upper entry tunnel. The rows have fewer seats, so getting in and out of your row will be easier. You’re also pretty close to the Packers Pro Shop in the stadium’s northeast corner.
If you’re looking for shaded seats, sections 432S, 434S, 436S, and 438S have some coverage from the seating deck above. These sections are also pretty small, which makes access easier.
And if you prefer to sit in seats with backrests, opt for 700s sections like 730S, 732S, 734S, and 735S. These are on the upper deck of Lambeau Field, so you won’t get such a good view, but they are the most affordable seats in the stadium. If you choose rows above row 11, you’ll also have some shade.
Family-friendly Facilities
Lambeau Field offers a Lost Person Prevention program that helps reunite parents with their children if they become separated. Register your child with the program, and they’ll receive a coded wristband containing your seat and contact information.
Family restrooms are available near sections 111, 134, 431, and Atrium levels 4-7 at the stadium’s south end.
Nursing rooms are available in the main Atrium (all days) and on the club level on game days. Family restrooms are also equipped with outlets and chairs for nursing mothers. Nursing supplies may be brought into the stadium, but coolers and glass equipment are not permitted.
The Junior Power Pack is the Green Bay Packers official kids club for fans aged 5-14 years old. Club members will receive a range of benefits, including year-round mailings, a birthday card, free admission to the Packers Hall of Fame, and exclusive competitions.
Which Are The Best Seats for a Group of Friends At Lambeau Field?
Section 100 is directly in front of the Miller Lite End Zone on two floors of the stadium’s north side. The ground floor houses the Miller Lite Market, where you can find a variety of grab-and-go food and drink options.
On the floor above, you’ll find the Miller Lite End Zone Bar, which has a capacity of nearly 400. This full-service bar opens two hours before the game starts and has several TVs so you can keep in touch with the game.
If you’re visiting the stadium with a large group of friends, you could also enter the lottery to get tickets for one of the Group Seating areas. These areas are suitable for 20-40 people, with tickets costing $193-$207 per person. Tickets for these areas can’t be resold.
Where Should Visitors Sit At Lambeau Field?

Premium seating options for visiting fans include sections 417-421 in the outdoor club seating area, where seats cost $462-$507. These tickets offer comfortable stadium seating, premium club access, and a great view from the top of the lower bowl.
Where To Sit At Lambeau Field For The Best Food
Although Lambeau Field is known for great tailgating, it also has some excellent food and drink concessions you’ll want to explore during your visit to the Packers’ stadium.
Popular game day food options include burgers, bratwurst, chicken tenders, and deep-pan pizza, all available throughout the stadium. Vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options are also widely available.
Don’t forget to visit the Miller Lite End Zone, where you can enjoy a drink at the Miller Lite Bar or pick up grab-and-go refreshments from the Miller Lite Market.
The Lambeau Field Atrium is home to the 1919 Kitchen and Tap, which offers an enticing menu featuring locally sourced ingredients and local brews.

- Roomy clear tote – we have 2 of these and they easily hold everything you could need
- Small, cute purse with a chain strap – I have a different version of this and it’s perfect for game dates
- The perfect in-between size purse – I have this one and it’s the perfect in-between size. It can be worn on your shoulder or cross-body, and it holds a lot without being bulky
You can also take in stadium seats that are no wider than 18” and have no pockets or zippers.
Cameras, binoculars, cellphones, and blankets can be carried in loosely.

Tailgating is allowed in Lambeau Field lots until the start of the game but is prohibited if you’re parking in a Titletown parking lot.
Your tailgating set-up must fit within the space directly behind your vehicle. Turkey fryers and recreational wood fires are not permitted, and your grill must be supervised at all times by a responsible adult. If you leave your grill unattended, it must be fully extinguished first.
