Citizens Bank Park is home to Major League Baseball’s Philadelphia Phillies. It’s located in the South Philadelphia Sports Complex, which also includes Lincoln Financial Field, the Wells Fargo Center, and the Xfinity Live! food court and theme park.

This MLB ballpark was built as a baseball-exclusive venue to replace Veterans Stadium, which had hosted both baseball and football games since 1971. Work began on the new stadium in 2001, and it was topped off in August 2003. 

Citizens Bank Park has a capacity of just under 43,000 and hosted its first regular-season game between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Cincinnati Reds in April 2004.

Field Level Down the Line

Choose third base side (sections 108-114) for shaded seating, or pick seats on the first base side (sections 133-139) for easy access to the kid-friendly Phanatic Phun Zone.

Field Level Outfield 

These seats are just beyond the outfield walls, making them the best place for a chance of catching a home run ball. Tickets here start around $78, which makes them a good value option for field level seats.

However, the downside is that this area doesn’t see much shade for most of the day. If that’s important to you, go for the back four rows of sections 102-107 in right field or sections 142-145 in left field, which get some shade from the Club Level overhang.

Also, bear in mind that from the left field side, it’s almost impossible to see the stadium’s impressive video board, which is one of the largest in the National League.

Club Level

Club Level Down the Line 

Second-tier Club Level seating is known as the Pavilion on the right field side and the Arcade on the left field side. 

These seats are located on the same level as the Hall of Fame Club, which gives them a semi-VIP feel. However, they don’t include premium seating or amenities, and there’s no premium price tag either—these seats start at around $60.

Sitting here will give you a good view of the game, and because the sections are pretty small, it’s easier to get out to concessions and restrooms. Sections 206-211 and 233-237 will give you some chance of catching a home run ball.

Club Level Outfield 

Like the Club Level seating down the lines, these seats have no premium seating amenities. However, they do offer affordable seating with a good view of the game, with prices starting from $60. 

This area also gets very little or no shade, and you should avoid the left field side if you want to see the video board.

Choose section 243 for easy access to Harry the K’s Broadcast Bar and Grille, or sit near center field to be close to the attractions and concessions on Ashburn Alley.

Terrace Level

Lower Terrace Infield 

Terrace Level seating is on the highest tier of the inner seating bowl at Citizens Bank Park. It’s divided into Upper Terrace and Lower Terrace, with a walkway between the two areas. 

Lower Terrace Infield seating stretches between first base and third base at the front of the Lower Terrace level. These affordable seats have open views of the game and are located near the Terrace Level concessions and the Liberty Bell Pig photo spot.

There’s little shade in this area during day games. Picking seats on the third base side will give you some shade by late afternoon, but avoid first base side if direct sun is a problem.

Expect to pay around $70 for a ticket in this area.

Lower Terrace Down the Line 

These sections are located at the front of the stadium’s upper deck between the corner bases and foul poles. Seating on the first base side is one of the most exposed sections of the stadium, so be sure to bring your sunscreen if you sit here. 

This area is pretty far from home plate, so the views aren’t great, and there aren’t many concessions or amenities here, either. Tickets start at $55, but you may prefer to pay extra for Infield seating. 

Upper Terrace Infield Seating

The Upper Terrace level is the highest seating level at Citizens Bank Park, so you won’t get a detailed view of the game. 

Most of the sections have no more than 20 rows of seating, and the highest rows get some shading from the small roof overhead. If you’d prefer a shaded seat closer to the front, choose third base side for shade from late afternoon.

Terrace Level concessions and restrooms are located behind home plate, so they’re a little closer to infield seats than seats down the line.

You’ll pay prices from $55 for a ticket in this area.

Upper Terrace Down the Line Seating

Like Upper Terrace Infield seats, this seating won’t give you a great view of the game. You can also expect to be in direct sun for most or all of the day, with sections on the third base side seeing a little more shade than those on the first base side.

You’ll also have a long walk to concessions and restrooms from sections down the line. As a result, these tickets make an affordable option for watching the Phillies play, with prices starting from $55. 

Upper Terrace Outfield Seating

Terrace Level Outfield seating is the highest outfield seating area at Citizens Bank Park and has limited amenities nearby. These are also the cheapest seats for a Phillies game, with prices starting from just $43.

The view isn’t great, and you’ll be in direct sunlight throughout a day game. However, if you’re visiting Citizens Bank Park on a budget, these seats might be worth considering.

Accessible Seating

Accessible seating at Citizens Bank Park is located throughout the stadium. Visitors purchasing an accessible seat can also purchase up to 3 companion seats, which will be provided as folding chairs. 

Wheelchair-accessible gates are available at every bank of turnstiles, and there are ramps and 15 elevators throughout the ballpark.  Escalators are also available at:

Which Seats Are Shaded At Citizens Bank Park?

Citizens Bank Park usually hosts about 15 day games each year, and many take place on days when the temperature reaches 90°F or higher. This stadium’s open design makes it hard to find shaded seats, but there are a few places to check out.

The stadium faces north, so the third base side gets the most shade as the sun sets on that side. 

The Club Level has the best seats for shade, and if you’re watching a 1pm game, sections 225-232 will be shaded by the third inning. 

Most Field Level seats are in direct sun for at least part of the game, even on the third base side. Picking rows 30 and above in third base sections 126-129 should mean you’re in shade after the first couple of innings.

Drivers traveling from the South or North should take I-95 and leave by the Broad St. Exit. Drivers traveling from the East or West should take I-76 to the Broad St. Exit. The ballpark is clearly signposted from the exit.

There are several parking lots surrounding Citizens Bank Park, and visitors are advised to arrive early and park in the first available lot. 

Preferred parking is available in certain parking lots, but there are no assigned preferred parking spots.

Arriving by Public Transportation

Citizens Bank Park is easily accessed using the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) Broad Street Line. 

Trains run every 8-10 minutes to the NRG Station at Broad and Pattison, and the journey takes about 15 minutes from City Hall. It’s then just a short walk (7-10 minutes) from the station to the ballpark.

The Uber RideShare point is in Lot T, where you’ll find an Uber-branded lounge with charging facilities. You can reach Lot T by exiting the ballpark via Third Base Gate and walking along Pattison Avenue toward Broad Street.

When To Arrive For the Philadelphia Phillies Game

In the regular season, all gates open at 5.35pm for a 6.40pm start time. For all other start times, gates open 90 minutes before the scheduled first pitch.
